I had the pleasure of hunting whitetail deer with Aaron Volkmar at Tails of the Hunt. I found Aaron and his staff to be most accommodating from the lodging, to the meals, to the comradery, and to the actual hunt. Aaron has researched his hunting leases and has placed his stands in strategic locations to assure his hunters of ample opportunity to obtain a B&C buck. I did see numerous bucks during my days afield but was looking for the “big boy” but that didn’t happen. However, Aaron truly went above and beyond his responsibility to me in placing me in stands which have been productive in the past – his effort was outstanding, the bucks didn’t cooperate.

Although I was not successful in obtaining a trophy buck, through the effort and diligence of Tails of the Hunt, this was a very successful trip for me. In fact, I have already booked my next hunt with Aaron and am already anticipating another wonderful opportunity to harvest a trophy whitetail. ~ December 2014

I have been on many hunts and would rate Tails of The Hunt Outfitters at the top of the list. They were very knowledgeable and prepared with scouting reports. The accommodations and guides were great. My father told me when i was a boy that the kill is only part of the hunt. Tails of The Hunt runs a first class operation. Aaron and his team pay attention to every detail of are hunt and fulfill any accommodations and or special request that you may need. The sets were FRESH and the animal plenty. Aaron runs a great camp.  I’ve been blessed to hunt across the country with some quality outfitters and Aaron would definitely be one of them on the top of the list.  They’re going to put you on a farm that has quality deer and only hunt that deer when conditions are right.  On my hunt I had a couple of great opportunities to harvest a mature deer, and had I not been self-filming I would have easily sealed the deal.  While in camp one of the hunters was fortunate to kill a buck of a life time grossing in the mid 70’s and it was a great experience just sharing in his success.   All in all it was one of my favorite hunts and I look forward to hunting at Tails of the Hunt again.

“I’ve had an opportunity to hunt with Aaron and his staff on two different occasions. Once for archery in Missouri and recently on a muzzleloader hunt in Southern Iowa. I’m in a wheelchair on a permanent basis. Did this deter Aaron from getting me to a stand that produces big bucks?  Not at all. Aaron and his staff did whatever was necessary to accommodate me. Aaron will treat you as a friend instead of a client. Don’t let your disability, no matter what it is,  stand in your way of having a great hunt. Aaron will make sure of that.  Even though I didn’t bag a deer, I was put in various blinds throughout my hunts, I saw plenty of trophy bucks.

Let me begin by thanking Aaron and his staff for such an enjoyable experience that has left a life long impression that will never be forgotten. This was my first ever guided hunt and from the time I pulled in the driveway, to the time I left, everything was beyond my expectations.  Aaron and his staff are very knowledgeable and treat you like a good friend rather than just a client.  I saw more big deer there than I would have anywhere else.  The accommodations were great.  Pam can cook (yes, just as good as your momma). Tails of the Hunt provided the makings for a very successful Spring 2014 Turkey Hunt. The properties we had access to had plenty of Toms. The guides were fantastic. The Morel Mushroom Hunting and Horseback riding were extra bonuses we were not expecting.  We will be back again for Deer season.

The knowledge of whitetails and hunting whitetails that Aaron and his team possess is far beyond anything I could imagine. They go the extra mile to put you on the deer! They go beyond being just a guide no matter if your a experienced hunter or its your first time, they treat you like a person wants to be treated as someone that matters not just a client, a true friend.
